The Software Industry Research Board (SIRB) is comprised of leaders from across the software vendor, software management tools and licensing consultancy communities.  SIRB has the single aim of promoting Software Asset Management (SAM) excellence across all organizations.

SIRB is committed to helping end user organizations both improve the value and reduce the risks associated with managing the software in use across the corporate network.  Through the publication of annual industry research, best practices guides, workshops and other events, SIRB highlights the major issues surrounding software management and provides professional advice on how to address them.

In addition to creating its own intellectual property concerning Software Asset Management and Licensing, SIRB also aggregates the best advice and materials from across its members; providing a single source of SAM-related news, advice and best practices for end user organizations.

Following successful research, white paper and annual conference activities in 2008, 2009 and 2010, the coming 12 months will see SIRB expand further with a broader online presence (www.sirb.co.uk), an increased number of regional events, regular workshops promoting SAM practices and practical 'masterclass' workshops.
